What Differentiates Us

The aggressive pursuit of new technology and current engineering advancements puts P & P Industries is a world class injection molder.

Engineer's Monthly Tip

Increasing wall thickness generally improves part strength, stiffness and impact resistance. However, overly thick walls can cause high internal stress and therefore reduce part strength. Impact resistance can suffer if the part is too stiff and unable to deflect and distribute the applied force.

Solenoids

Solenoids

In 1985, P & P Industries purchased a line from Potter & Brumfield to compliment the successful injection molding division. Together the team satisfies the customer.

Quality is built into the Solenoid through experience, training, and pride. Assembly is completed by one single solenoid at a time to ensure the utmost quality and quickest lead-time. The manufacturing philosophy of a single solenoid assembled at a time provides a competitive market edge in cost.

P & P Industries Solenoid is in fact the most competitively priced on the market with remarkable quality and lead-times.

Engineering Solenoids

Special Solenoids

P & P Industries, Inc. Solenoids can be especially designed to suit specific requirements when production quantities are involved. The following variations from standard can be considered.

* Special Pull Bars
* Special Terminals - Quick disconnect, Solder, Screw Terminals, etc.
* Special Leads - Length, Type of Insulation, etc.
* Special Mounting Brackets - Flat Base is standard
* Special Voltages - P & P Industries engineering solenoid experts are always available for consultation on your specific requirements.

Stroke

The shortest possible stroke should be used to reduce impact and wear and to prolong service life.

Avoid Overpowering

It is never advisable to select a solenoid with excessive power for the load, which results in severe hammering that shortens solenoid life materially.

Residual Magnetism

All solenoids, by their very nature, tend to develop "residual magnetism." This means that a minimal amount of magnetism remains in the steel, which tends to hold the plunger in the seated position when the coil is deenergized. The effects of this residual magnetism can be overcome by:
(a) applying sufficient loading to the plunger to overcome this residual magnetism.
(b) incorporating some design features into the solenoid to minimize the effects of this magnetism.

General Purpose Solenoids Provide Smooth, Linear Actuation for a variety of Applications

P & P Industries box frame solenoids are designed for a wide range of applications. The box frame construction offers somewhat better efficiency and longer life than C-frame units. Some box frame units have a flux ring located on the end plate which results in increased force particularly at longer stroke. Standard models are available in standard AC and DC voltages and have pull type operation. AC models incorporate a shading coil to minimize hum. Standard models have molded coil covers for coil protection (except S22 series) and quick connect terminals for east of wiring. Terminals are also slotted to allow soldered connections.

C-Frame Solenoids provide Linear Actuation at a Small Price, For Many General Purpose Applications.

C-Frame solenoids are a low cost alternative for many applications. All units are available with both AC and DC coil and pull type construction. Solenoids with other standard voltages (generally 6, 13, 24, 110 and 220 VDC and 12, 24, 120, 240 VAC) are also available from P & P Industries models incorporate a shading coil to minimize hum. All models have a molded coil cover for coil protection and quick connect terminals for ease of wiring. Terminals are also slotted to allow soldered connections.
