P&P Industries Enters Exciting Times
Morrison, Ill. (June 24, 2011) – Custom injection molder P&P Industries Inc. announces today that it is finalizing plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Sterling, Ill. This new facility will be 96,000 sqft, located on 13 acres of land in the Meadowlands Business Park with state of the art technology and an environmentally controlled manufacturing space. Construction is set to start in July with a tentative completion in January 2012.
Vice President of Operations, Tony Nardi stated, “Moving into the new facility will take place over a period of six to nine months to ensure our operations continue uninterrupted and we can continue to run production on our 24/7 schedule”. Over the past 12 months P&P Industries has increased their work force by 15%, including the addition of some key positions. “We will continue to grow bringing new employment opportunities to the Whiteside county area,” Nardi said. Heather Sotelo, Executive Director of the Greater Sterling Development Corporation, stated “We are extremely pleased to welcome P&P Industries Inc. to our community. They have had a successful business in the past and we are proud to welcome them to Sterling for their expansion and future growth.”
Due to the recent addition of one 780 ton Haitian, a 500 ton Toshiba, and two 400 ton Toshiba all electric injection molding machines the current facility is maxed out on floor space and infrastructure capacity. The new facility will provide additional capacity and is designed to accommodate future growth up to 160,000 sqft. in three building phases. P&P Sales Manager, Kyle Milan, stated “Given our current growth plans and limited available land at our Spring Valley location, we determined a new facility was necessary. By building a new facility, we have the opportunity to setup a plant that will meet our specific needs including an environmentally controlled manufacturing area, the latest robotic technology, and flow through manufacturing layout.” He added, “We have seen tremendous growth over the past year and will continue to break into new market segments with the new facility. It will provide us with tools needed to compete with the top custom molders in the Midwest and new offer opportunities in the medical, food, and packaging industries.”
The Morrison, Ill. -based Women-Owned custom injection molder has been in business since 1970. As a leader in Scientific Injection Molding, utilizing a decoupled 2 process with E-Dart process controllers, P&P has continued to reinvest profits in the company. Currently P&P has 30 injection molding machines ranging from 28 tons to 780 tons operating a 24/7 work schedule. P&P has 65 current employees and will add 15 employees at their new facility bringing their total employee count to 80 in the first quarter 2012.
